I am putting it out there, I am obsessed with M.A.C Viva Glam Gaga II lipstick ($36 AUD and $14.50 US) and matching lipglass ($14.50 US). It was released into the Viva Glam collection February 17 2011 in the US/Canada and internationally March 2011. However, as with the original Viva Glam Gaga (a bright cool toned bubble gum pink), it is limited edition till February 2012.
Colour: Viva Glam Gaga II lipstick according to the M.A.C website it is a: “light warm beige” with an Amplified finish. It is definitely more yellow and brown based (although it doesn’t show up so much in the images) than other popular nude M.A.C lipsticks such as “Crème d‘Nude,” which I feel has peach beige undertones but on my skin tone looks much more concealer like and a bit dead looking on it’s own without bringing it up with a slick of a warmer shade lipgloss. To pull this lipstick off you should have olive/tanned skin with yellow undertones, which I have I with NC35 skin.Caramel sistas you can rock this.
This lipstick is beautifully paired with the matching Gaga II lipglass in “a light sandy neutral.” It has gorgeous smaller silver flecks throughout it. Unfortunately, the lipglass doesn’t appear available here in Australia, I sourced mine from the United States.

Application: as an Amplified finish, this lipstick applies with great ease, it is creamy and two coats of it suffices for full coverage on my lips. Not familiar with the Amplified finish? According to the M.A.C website an Amplified Crème (no mention of exactly what the difference is between Amplified’s and Amplified Crème) lipstick is Ultra-creamy. Quietly shiny. Colour-packed! Hi-res: hi-impact. I assume Amplified finish lipsticks are just a tad less creamier than Amplified Crèmes. I will say though, that this lipstick does show up dryness on the lips if your lips are not properly primed with lip balm and dry skin is present. Ensure prior to application you’ve buffed your lips of dead skin and have applied a lip balm to moisturise your pout for a flawless finish. I also apply the matching lipglass over the top which further aids to conceal any slight imperfections on the lips.
The lipglass is easy and smooth to apply with a doe foot applicator as per all lipglasses, and is quite opaque and doesn’t require building up.

Packaging: this lippie is easily identified against other M.A.C lipsticks in my collection as it has a metallic red rim instead of the traditional silver, and the inside rim bares Lady Gaga’s signature. It is very sleek and unique.
The lipglass has Lady Gaga’s red metallic signature also around the outside package. Word of advice: keep it away from other tools in your makeup bag as it will chip off the signature.

Overall I think this lipstick and lipglass are great for anytime of the year and the duo go with any outfit, I love wearing it to work paired with a neutral eye, for a professional look. Gaga II also looks particularly gorgeous teamed with a smoky eye. I for one will be stockpiling Gaga II (when it isn’t sold out online) for use post February 2012 when it will disappear from our shelves. Bad Romance with Viva Glam Gaga II? No such thing..
