*NEW* MUSIC: Drake drops three new tracks for download in one weekend

So I along with all of Drake’s fans have been anticipating Drizzy’s new album release Take Care” to be released October 24th 2011, the follow up release from the critically acclaimed “Thank Me Later” in 2010. He has certainly been busy recording collabos with Stevie Wonder, Lenny Kravitz, Kreayshawn and Lil Wayne just to name a few.

Mr Graham has released three songs on his blog OVO (October’s Very Own). So I hear you asking, what in the world is OVO? Drake hosted the first annual OVO (October’s Very Own) Festival. In that festival he brought out the VIP list of rap stars including Jay-Z, Eminem, Rick Ross, Young Jeezy, Bun B and Fabolous. Anything exclusive about Drake that he wants to release on his own terms, will be found on www.octobersveryown.net.

I’m not sure how YMCMB’s Lil Wayne feels about this. It really comes as no surprise his use of the internet to promote himself given the release of So Far Gone”, his third mixtape (the one that broke the mainstream charts) was posted for free download on his blog site, it received over 2,000 downloads in the first 2 hours of release. Drake was huge in the underground before he made it onto the mainstream US charts.

Check out Drake’s latest three tracks he posted this weekend for preview and download. It will be interesting to know whether any of these will feature on “Take Care.”

Club Paradise – Drake

“Drake comes home on the reflective “Club Paradise,” named after a strip club in Toronto. October’s Very Own recalls his past over the mellow Noah “40” Shebib production, mending his relationship with his mother, calling out strippers by their real names, and sharing advice from T.I”Rap-Up.com

Free Spirit – Drake featuring Rick Ross

“Drake takes care of his girl and asks that she tattoo his name on her in return. “Tat my name on you so I know it’s real,” he raps on “Free Spirit.” Rick Ross rolls out the red carpet for his lady, with Rolexes, Rolls-Royces, and a private performance by Travis Barker.” Rap-Up.com

Round of Applause (Remix) – Waka Flocka featuring Drake

This track is technically not Drake’s it’s a collabo track. All this strip club mention, I’m a bit concerned for Drake, he best talk to his mate Kanye West who’s learnt first hand, ‘you can’t find love in the strip club.’ *Cough* Amber Rose

“Drizzy remixes Waka Flocka Flame’s strip club anthem “Round of Applause,” providing some encouragement and financial support to his local strippers. First Lex Luger beat I ever got to rap on…feel like I got seat B60 on Southwest…everybody has gone in before me…but we made it happen!” he wrote.Rap-Up.com

Recap of Drake’s 2011 Track Releases “Take Care “

For those of you who haven’t been keeping up with Drake’s online releases this year, (which has been creating great excitement for his October album) here they are in a one stop post for your listening pleasure. Check it!

Headlines – Drake

This track is penned to be the first official single off “Take Care” and talks about his frame of mind coming into the production of this album and shoots back at his doubters. Trey Songz did the official remix to this song. Not sure I like his foul language on this track, keep it sexy and tasteful Trigga, leave rapping to Drizzake.

 Trust Issues – Drake

I really love this track, I think it’s emotionally revealing and touches on how he has trust issues in relationships with people in his life. Yes, you have heard this sampled before in the DJ Khaled track featuring other rappers titled “I’m On One.” I actually prefer this version to the upbeat  pace of “I’m On One.” Justin Bieber or is it Shawty Mane remixed this track check the Biebs attempt below.

 Marvin’s Room – Drake

This track is by far my favourite release for potential inclusion on “Take Care.” I feel the lyrical content of this song would resonate with many others; the song is about being recently broken up with someone and finding out they’ve moved on, being jealous and regretful to the point where you drunk dial your ex and express this. Judging by the number of remixes made by other artists of “Marvin’s Room” I think quite a few other people like it too. Notable remixes include JoJo, Teyana Taylor and Chris Brown.

The Remixes

JoJo– Marvin’s Room (Can’t Do Better)

Teyana Taylor – Her Room

Chris Brown – Marvin’s Room (Remix)
